Choose from our selection of gifts that directly benefit women suffering from obstetric fistula and prevent new cases from occurring.
New Dress | $25
Each patient at the Danja Fistula Center receives a new dress at the end of her stay. The dress represents a “fresh start” and marks her joyful transition back to the life she once knew.
Set of Ten Mosquito Nets | $50
Mosquito nets help protect our fistula patients from malaria while they are staying at the Danja Fistula Center. All nets are purchased in Niger to help boost the local economy.
Fistula Prevention Outreach | $100
This gift facilitates our teams of outreach workers; providing the transportation, materials and staff needed to educate about effective fistula prevention strategies for one month in ten villages. Outreach includes education about tolerance, prevention tactics and the importance of seeking qualified medical assistance.
Social Reintegration Services for a Fistula Patient | $150
$150 provides social reintegration counseling and vocational training for a patient after her fistula has been treated. Many of our patients have suffered incredible shame and impoverishment and need significant preparation to reenter society.
General Medical Supplies for the Danja Fistula Center | $250
As you might imagine, the Danja Fistula Center needs a constant influx of modern medical supplies to give our patients the best treatment possible. Your gift will support one week’s worth of items including dressings, medications, and catheters.
Training for Health Care Workers | $300
There is a desperate need for maternal health care workers in Niger, including midwives, anesthesiologists, nurses, surgeons and prevention and education coordinators. Each gift goes to support one month of the necessary education and training for future health care providers.
Fistula Surgery | $450
While the true cost of a fistula surgery is as varied as the patients who come in our doors, $450 is often enough to provide the care, surgery and after-treatment needed to change a woman’s life.
Donations of any amount are always welcome. Each donation is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
*Your gifts will be used to provide services related to obstetric fistula in Danja, Niger, as well as program development, outreach and advocacy efforts here and abroad. The above are examples of how donations will be spent. In most cases, the funds received will go directly to the projects selected unless we have already met our funding goals in that area.
